Here’s a question I received from one of my online clients:
“How do you know a client is truly ready to do what it takes to transform their body?”
I never know for sure. Some people come to me sort of “half-committed” and then they keep doing the right things and just catch fire and go right to the goal. Other people come to me all fired up and pumped up, and then they crash fast and endlessly struggle or quit.
The clients who do the best on a consistent basis, realize that it’s going to take effort and work and that they won’t always feel like doing it. Those people get it. So there’s no clear-cut answer to your question. There are only a few people that are what I define as “ready” – and they get to goal a little faster than most, but even they struggle at times.
Most people have to dig deep and just stay with it. That’s when motivation increases, but no one ever buys that. Most people want to wait for motivation to show up. It’s a complete trick.
Just like a job. You go in every day because you’ll get fired if you don’t. If you slack off and don’t do the work, you run the risk of getting fired. Bust your butt and do a great job – you’re rewarded. The people who are ready, place that same pressure on themselves when it comes to their health and when it comes to transformation.
My job is to support, provide sound recommendations, give tons of encouragement and point the way. But, a client has to be willing to do the hard work.
